Description

Are you a local Channel resident? Come and see, ride in or even test drive, a range of electric vehicles in Snug! We are providing a relaxed informal atmosphere to spend time with real everyday people who really know their electric vehicles and are willing to share their time and, in some cases, even their car with you!

If you want to ride in or drive and electric car, registration will be essential. You can do that online or on the day.

Update: Snug Electric Vehicle Fair will also showcase e-bikes and e-scooters, in addition to a great range of over 30 electric vehicles. You'll be able to check out a range of ebikes and escooters, and potentially take them for a spin.

For the e-bikes, there is no need to register, just show up between 10.30 and 2.30 this Saturday and join in the conversation over some hot soup or coffee from one of the food vans on site.

The total cost of ownership of these amazing new type of vehicles is coming down and the benefits in emission reductions is real. You may be surprised just how many different types of EVs are available in Australia these days - come and see for yourself. If you are getting more serious about purchasing, the Good Car Co will be there to offer you some interesting options to consider...

Teros from Hobart and Ecoshack from Cygnet will both be present with a range of e-bikes, e-scooters and conversion kits, with experts on hand to discuss your options. Two wheeled electric transport is another way we can contribute to a lower carbon future, and if you’ve never tried one or considered an electrified two wheeler, this is your chance!

People looking at electric vehicles

We will provide:

  1. Presentations to further inform ourselves and our community about the current state of play regarding electric vehicles.
  2. Local residents with an opportunity to get up close and personal with an electric car or ebike including looking, discussing, riding in and even driving an electric car.

Clive is an accomplished speaker and will provide a wonderful overview of how EVs will impact our transition to a climate positive world over the next 5-10 years?

  2. How will EVs affect the energy infrastructure? Positively or negatively?

  3. What is the total economic cost of ownership comparisons with ICE cars? Discuss higher up-front costs versus lower running costs.

  4. New government’s policies fact sheet, Tasmanian government Stamp Duty

Clive is the National Vice-President of Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA). Now semi-retired but still active with Electric Highway Tasmania, helping to provide statewide coverage for the electric vehicle charging network.
