EVs and the Environment

Cobalt sulphate is used in the production of Li-ion battery cathodes.

Electric Vehicles have enormous benefits for the environment, but as with all things, it's a little more complicated than at first glance.

Like any manufactured goods, they come with embedded emissions - the emissions associated with mining, preparing and constructing the vehicle before it rolls off the production line.
