The Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Perth with the 2023 AEVA Conference and EV Expo; Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre November 3rd to 5th.

This year’s conference theme is “Electrification for Everyone” – How do we ensure that all Australians benefit from electric transport? As Australia makes the inevitable shift to electric vehicles (EVs) there is a real risk the transition will create a divide between those with the means, and those without. Insatiable demand for EVs has meant long lead times, supply-chain issues and higher prices for materials. The opportunities are massive, but we must not leave anyone behind.

What can be done to assure access to more affordable EVs? Are we doing enough to ensure people of all abilities can benefit from EVs?  Is talk of a battery minerals shortfall overblown, and will we see more conflict between the environment and electrification? How can we ensure roads are costed appropriately and fairly, discourage polluting modes and embracing cleaner, smaller vehicles?  Is the private automobile the solution at all – and what can be done to make our cities less dependent on cars to begin with?  Will heavy haulage electrify fast enough, or should we be investing heavily in our railways to make them more frequent, faster and electric?

The AEVA invites you to attend the November 3rd conference to come and learn first-hand from experts and scholars of transport, economics and social wellbeing. With an audience of business leaders, government ministries, civil societies, scientists and public policy experts, this is the place to share your solutions!  A call for abstracts will be released soon. We encourage all Australians; scholars and citizens alike to submit your abstract for inclusion in the conference program.  Speakers are encouraged to frame their presentation in the context of accessibility, affordability and liveability.

Notching up 50 years of grass-roots advocacy for electric transport is no mean feat, but AEVA has served with humble dedication. Help us celebrate by attending our Friday night Gala Dinner, to be held at iconic Frasers Restaurant in wildflower-laden Kings Park, overlooking the city. With great entertainment, fine West Australian food and drink, and plenty of stimulating discussion, come share a table with new friends and celebrate this golden milestone.

The EV Expo on Saturday and Sunday will see the main pavilion of the Perth Convention and Exhibition centre transformed into Electric Avenue – filled to the brim with the latest electric cars, utes, motorbikes, bicycles, scooters, mowers, mining equipment, boats, trains and aeroplanes.  Our philosophy is; if it moves, it can move with electricity!  A massive display of classic converted and unique EVs is sure to inspire, while Lithium Valley will showcase Western Australia’s star role in the global battery-electric future.  Come and learn about the worlds longest Electric Highway, and the latest in home, fast- and very fast charging. There’s plenty to see and do for the whole family.

November 3rd to 5th 2023 will be an electrifying weekend in Perth. If you would like to know more or you are keen to partner with the AEVA, get in touch.
