As a follow up to our highly successful Volgren factory visit, 26 Vic branch members enjoyed a guided tour of the 100% electric Ventura Ivanhoe Bus Depot. The AEVA crew might have discovered a new unit of measurement – the one ‘metric busload’ of enthusiasts!
We enjoyed learning about Victoria’s first electric bus depot which runs 27 electric buses across Melbourne’s northern suburbs. The depot was converted from servicing diesel buses with the installation of a new transformer onsite and upgrading the grid connection to support the 14 dual Tritium fast charging stations.
Ventura is the largest bus operator in the state, and host Victoria’s largest fleet of zero-emission buses, part of the state government’s $20 million Zero Emissions Bus (ZEB) Trial.

Special thanks to Ventura’s Andrew Fairhall for his generous time and such a smooth, quiet and clean bus ride!
Many thanks to Richard Laxton for organising another highly successful event.
