Plug-in vehicles in Canberra surge past 1,000
At the beginning of this year, there were less than 600 plug-in vehicles registered in Canberra. By the end of October, there were 1,037. This growth trend has been welcomed by the ACT Branch of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA ACT).
Plug-in registered vehicles include battery electric cars, plug-in hybrid cars, and electric motorbikes.
In Canberra, they include over 100 three-wheeled Australia Post electric motorbikes supplied by Kyburz of Switzerland. They include over 200 Tesla passenger cars and other battery electric cars such as the Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Ioniq and Hyundai Kona, and plug-in hybrid cars such as the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
