Electric vehicles have come a long way, but the laws of physics haven't budged. Any electrical device will generate heat, and if not kept in check, that heat can do damage. This article covers some of the reasons why an EV battery should be kept cool, and details how some manufacturers are approaching the problem.

Geelong AEVA sub-branch set-up meeting this Friday (7th)

Hi to all AEVA Vic members (and in particular Geelong and region members) - am letting you know there is a Geelong sub-branch set-up meeting for interested members this Friday (7th), starting 7pm. This meeting is to gauge the level of interest in setting up a Geelong region AEVA sub-branch. The group setting up the event is the Geelong Renew EV branch who are proposing to join AEVA as a formal branch and thereby gain the benefits of the national AEVA network and support. Fuel excise or a road user charge - Why not both?

The NSW government Department of Treasury are hosting a discussion on state-federal relations, and the way revenue is collected for transport infrastructure is in their sights. A proposal to charge EVs (and not ICEVs) a road user charge is being recommended, but the AEVA notes this is grossly unfair, and that a fairer way is possible.
